Q: How much does it cost to participate?
A: $10 per player. Kids under 16 are free. Additional donations are welcome! Registration and payment open on Dec 1, 2024
Q: What does the registration fee cover?
A: Golf, chili, beverages, and tennis ball provided
Q: What time should I arrive?
A: Registration begins at noon, allowing time to participate in contests and buy raffle tickets.
Q: Is the registration fee refundable?
A: No. Non-refundable. In the event of cancellation by participant or host, registration fees will be donated to SHFS.
Q: How many people can I register?
A: You can register 1-4 people per team. If you would like to register more than 4 people, you will need to break into multiple teams of 4 or less and submit multiple registration forms.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Dress warmly and in layers. Winter in MN is unpredictable. This event has seen frigid zero degree temps and 30 degrees and sunny. You just never know. Festive attire is encouraged but not required.
Q: What should I bring?
A: A device to hit a tennis ball off the ground (i.e. golf club, hockey stick, croquet mallet, etc). Ice cleats recommended on the course. BYOB. Some beverages will be provided.
Q: I am not a golfer. Will I still have fun?
A: YES! Golf skills and knowledge are not a pre-requisite to participation. In fact, when you golf on ice, any skill you think you have will go right out the window.
Q: How long will it take to golf?
A: It takes approximately 1-1.5 hours to golf 9 holes on the ice. Plan for 3-4 hours total to participate in contests and the raffle.
Q: I can’t participate, but can I donate?
A: YES! Visit the “Donate” page to donate to our event. Or, go to www.safehavenfostershoppe.org/donate to make a tax-deductible donation.
Q: Can I come to hang out but not golf?
A: Yes, but the $10 fee still applies. Please plan to pay at the event.
Q: Is alcohol available to purchase?
A: No. We do not have a liquor license. BYOB and dispose of opened alcohol containers before leaving the premises. Do not drink and drive. Plan a sober ride.
Q: Who benefits from this event?
A: All proceeds go directly to Safe Haven Foster Shoppe. SHFS provides new essential items to children in foster care. See www.safehavenfostershoppe.org for more details on their mission.
Q: If I volunteer can I still participate in golf?
A: Yes! All volunteer jobs occur before and after golf.
